abbe goldsteinAbbe Goldstein, an investor relations and corporate communications hand for Revlon, National Financial Partners and Willis Group Holdings, has moved to publicly traded bond insurer Ambac Financial Group in its top IR and corporate comms. post.

Goldstein takes a managing director role at New York-based Ambac, which emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May after being hobbled by the 2007 financial crisis. She takes over for Michael Fitzgerald, the treasury and IR managing director who is retiring at the end of December.

Goldstein was senior VP of IR and corporate comms. at NFP and Revlon. She was also associate director of IR at Willis Group after stints at Thomson Financial and The Carson Group, among others.

Ambac president and CEO Diana Adams thanked Fitzgerald for his service "during a challenging and transitional period for the company."

Ambac filed for bankruptcy in 2010 amid pressure from the IRS and a heavy debt load after its guarantees on mortgage securities and credit default swaps went south amid the housing crisis.
