National Financial Partners Corp., the 14-year-old advisory and brokerage firm, has enlisted Sard Verbinnen & Co and tapped a committee of independent directors as private equity firms show "interest."

Chairman and CEO Jessica Bibliowicz, the daughter of Wall Street legend Sandy Weill, is relinquishing the reins of publicly traded NFP in April after 14 years.

The firm said March 13 that “indications of interest” received from PE firms sparked the board move to explore a possible sale.

Sard Verbinnen managing director Denise DesChenes advises NFP.  Abbe Goldstein heads investor relations and corporate communications at NFP.

Revenue for 2012 topped $1B at NFB with net income of $29.9M.
