Charlie Perkins is exiting law firm Baker & McKenzie following a brief stint as global director of communications.

According to a note, Perkins is leaving after a “challenging and rewarding time at the firm.” He’s looking for a position that provides an “opportunity to fully utilize my experience and skills.”

Perkins joined B&M in August 2012 from Ernst & Young, where he was Americas PR director.

Earlier, he headed Weber Shandwick's New York corporate reputation practice and chaired Edelman's global corporate reputation unit.

Perkins also held the PA director slot at Prudential Securities and was New York City's assistant housing commissioner during the Ed Koch administration.
