liquidnetLiquidnet Inc., the New York-based global institutional trading network, has hired APCO Worldwide to handle "market structure" regulations or legislation that may arise in Washington.

Its network connects more than 700 asset managers worldwide who are involved in block trades.

The average Liquid trade in the U.S. is 42K shares. More than 75 percent of members’ trades during the first-half were either the No. 1 or No. 2 ranked daily sale on that stock.

Liquidnet this month forged an alliance with Deutsche Borse to enhance its ability to trade in German stocks.

APCO staffers including Chris McCannell, (former special assistant to the late Sen. Frank Lautenberg), Jon Gregory (legislative aide to Rep. Norman Sisisky) and Paul Dyke (ex-deputy secretary for Europe & Eurasia and associate political director at the White House) work the Liquidnet business.
