peter delevettPeter Delevett, an editor and columnist who covered the Silicon Valley venture capital realm for the San Jose Mercury News, has moved to VC giant Intel Capital to direct global marketing and PR.

Delevett penned the Merc's "Wiretap" column and was a political editor and metro columnist for the paper. He is also a freelance travel writer.

IC, the investment arm of semiconductor giant Intel, has pumped $11B into more than 1,300 companies since its 1991 founding, including $333M last year alone.

Delevett, in a thoughtful piece on Redroom.com about his move from journalism to PR, wrote: "I doubt I'll ever fully stop viewing the world, or myself, through a journalist's lens. As I look ahead, I like to think I can help corporate America better understand the role journalists play. In a new phase of my life, amid a new media landscape, I hope to continue to be a story teller and strategist . . . but hopefully, not a spinmeister."
