Snapchat has snatched Jill Hazelbaker, who was Google's top PR/government relations executive, to head its communications department, after an extensive search.
She'll move next month from London, where Hazelbaker also oversaw European Union policy, to the Los Angeles headquarters of the mobile messaging firm.
Re/code, which broke the story, noted Hazelbaker's Google tenure was "no stroll in the park"
Prior to the London basing, Hazelbaker managed former New York mayor Mike Bloomberg's re-election campaign and served as communications director for John McCain's presidential campaign.
