Kathryn Beiser, most recently at Hilton, has joined Edelman in Washington as chair of the corporate practice at the independent firm with 2014 fees in the $800M range.
She'll report to Ben Boyd, president of Edelman's practices, services and offerings unit.
Beiser ended a two-year stint at the lodging giant in February.
She did six years stint at credit card marketer Discovery Financial Services (VP-corporate communications) and 20 more at PR firms Burson-Marsteller, Golin/Harris, Hill & Knowlton and Ruder Finn.
Boyd cited Beiser's ability to work across industry sectors, shape culture and provide advice to top managers among her key attributes.
