Matthew Wald, the veteran New York Times energy reporter who took a buyout at the end of 2014, is moving to the nuclear power trade group, the Nuclear Energy Institute.
Wald will take the role of senior director, policy analysis and strategic planning at Washington-based NEI.
E&E News' Greenwire first reported Wald's move, noting he joins NEI on April 13.
Wald covered primarily energy -- fossil fuels, renewable and the environment -- over 37 years at the Times and joined its Washington bureau in 1995, reporting stories from the Exxon Valdez and Three Mile Island to Fukushima.
