dan bergerDan Berger, a News Corp. and 21st Century Fox alum, is moving to DreamWorks Animation to head corporate communications for the creative studio behind "Shrek" and "Kung Fu Panda."

Berger was VP of comms. for News Corp. through its 2013 and later became senior VP of corporate comms. of 21st Century Fox post-split.

He takes up the Dreamworks post on July 27 under CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg and will serve as chief corporate spokesman, in addition to heading corporate comms.

Chip Sullivan, a veteran Dreamworks hand who was close to Katzenberg, departed for the EVP/comms. slot at NBC Entertainment in April.

Berger worked on the agency side for GCI Group and Edelman, and held a senior PR role with Yahoo!.

Robin Chandler took the reins of Dreamworks' theatrical publicity this month, joining from rival Pixar.
