Palm Beach Int'l Film FestivalBoca Raton, FL-based PR firm TransMedia Group has been named agency of record for The Palm Beach International Film Festival.

Founded twenty years ago, the Palm Beach International Film Festival is now one the country's leading film organizations, showcasing more 120 motion pictures each year for an estimated 20,000 attendees. The event, which will be held April 6-14 this year, has hosted more than 1,100 films from nearly 60 countries to date. The annual event, which present juror awards in the best picture, best documentary, best director, and best actor categories, among others, was recently ranked one of the top 10 destination film festivals in the world by MovieMaker magazine.

TransMedia’s publicity work for the prestigious festival will draw on a bid to raise international awareness of the non-profit organization, highlighting the festival’s growth, as well as its newly renovated multi-use movie house, the Palm Beaches Theatre in neighboring Manalapan. The agency will target regional, national and international media in the course of executing its PR program for the organization. TransMedia CEO Tom Madden said the agency's publicity work will "include Dubai and other opulent areas in the UAE and other parts of the world where emerging artistic communities are expanding their involvement in the movie business."

Madden, a former vice president of PR and programming at NBC, founded TransMedia Group in 1981. The agency in January launched a talent practice that represents models.
