Havas has announced that Tim Maleeny will be returning to the company as chief strategy officer, North America. He was previously at Havas from 2013 to 2016 as chief strategy officer and managing director. Maleeny rejoins Havas from R/GA, where he was an executive director of strategy at R/GA. He has also served as CSO and general manager for Heat/Deloitte and as head of strategic planning for Ogilvy. “Havas has always been the most innovative of the holding companies, and there’s renewed momentum across the network, so I’m incredibly excited to be back,” said Maleeny. Paul Marobella, chairman and CEO, Havas Creative, U.S., said that Maleeny “provides unprecedented value to the North American network and is a welcome addition as we continue to elevate our strategic product and unique offerings for the modern CMO.”

Gatesman has named Demar Anderson vice president, director of marketing. Anderson will be responsible for driving the development of executive-level strategy and planning, and the execution of initiatives that support and strengthen Gatesman’s marketing and business development initiatives. She comes to Gatesman from Ketchum, were she served as managing supervisor, business development. Before that, she worked at Edelman, most recently as new business advisor, southeast region. “Demar is curious, driven and obsessed with researching market trends and industry data,” said Gatesman CEO John Gatesman. “She doesn’t stop asking questions until she finds the right answer—whether that’s a unique consumer insight, new business opportunity or powerful brand message.”

SPRYTE Communications has appointed Mark Wilgus to the position of account director. Wilgus will be responsible for managing client relationships, developing communications strategies, executing tactics and providing counsel on a day-to-day basis. He comes to SPRYTE from Paulsboro Refining Company, where he managed community outreach activities and charitable giving functions, as well as serving as the primary contact for media, public officials and other stakeholders. Prior to that, he held executive positions with Bank of America and L-3 Communications/MPRI, and spent five years as a reporter and editor for the Gloucester County Times in Woodbury, NJ.
