TransMedia Group has named Catherine deHaan executive vice president of PR, marketing and video production. deHaan currently runs her own digital media company, Mermaid Media, Inc., with which TransMedia will be partnering. Her previous positions include PR director, project manager and producer at Havas Worldwide Advertising in New York and project manager, producer and video editor at 2C Media Creative. She has worked with brands including Novartis, Amgen, L’Oreal, Godiva. Condé Nast and ABC News. TransMedia Group president Adrienne Mazzone said that deHaan’s “media contact and high-level experience developing strategies and implementing them for brands will be of great value to our growing roster of clients worldwide.”

Prometheum, a blockchain financial platform, has hired Kirti Naik as chief marketing officer. Prior to joining Prometheum, Naik was global head of brand & marketing insights at Russell Investments. She was previously global head of brand & advertising at OppenheimerFunds (now Invesco) for seven years, and served as vice president, marketing strategy at Citibank. In her new position, Naik will work to further Prometheum’s efforts to securitize blockchain tokens and educate investors on the opportunities accessible in the blockchain world. “Kirti has a track record of bringing major companies to the forefront through successful marketing efforts, especially in the financial sector,” said Prometheum co-CEO Aaron Kaplan.

The Public Affairs Council, the largest international association for public affairs professionals, has promoted Laura Horsley to senior director of marketing and communications, Kristin Brackemyre to director of PAC and government relations, and Nick DeSarno to director of digital and policy communications. Before joining the Council in 2016, Horsley was vice president of communications and marketing for the American Society of Interior Designers. Brackemyre came to the Council in 2017 from the Consumer Technology Association, where she was senior manager, PAC and political affairs. Nick DeSarno managed grassroots advocacy at the American Dental Association before joining the Council in 2015.
