The International Dairy Foods Association has named Andrew Jerome director, external and member communications. Jerome joins IDFA from Michael Torrey Associates, where he served as director, providing policy and communications guidance and representation to food companies, trade associations, farm groups, and universities. He previously served as the communications director for the National Farmers Union. In his new post, Jerome will manage IDFA’s communications, marketing and reputation management activities for the organization’s members as well as the broader dairy and food industries.

Philadelphia-based Powers Brand Communications has named Karen Murray vice president. Murray has been director of the agency’s franchise practice since 2016. She also oversees the firm’s project group, which provides strategy and execution for specific projects and includes press release writing and distribution, content development, press events, guerilla marketing, and other tactics as needed. Murray has also served as principal at Murray 3/21, and began her career at Tierney Communications. Powers Brand Communications CEO Vince Powers said that Murray "offers a great deal of experience across a number of industries. Her background and expertise, particularly in differentiating franchise brands through helping craft their unique stories, are a great asset to our firm and our clients.”

Hill+Knowlton Strategies has added Lucy D’Abo to its Middle East team as director of client services. D'Abo was a co-founder of Dabo and Co, which was bought by Edelman in 2015 and renamed Edelman Dabo. She left the firm in 2017. Also joining H+K’s Dubai office are Audrey Soler as regional director of The Studio and Digital Optimisation; Arne Mosselman, who is taking on the newly established role of director of creative strategy; and Salah Bakri, who has been named director of content + publishing.
