SoundExchange, which works to distribute music royalties to creator groups and advocate for fair pay across all platforms, has appointed Esther-Mireya Tejeda as chief marketing and communications officer. Tejada joins SoundExchange from audio and entertainment company Entercom, where she was senior vice president and head of corporate communications. Before that, she served as director of corporate communications at Univision and manager of public relations at PepsiCo. In her new post, she will oversee SoundExchange’s brand strategy and marketing, global communications and public relations, industry relations, and public policy groups. “Esther brings a unique blend of experience, talent, and ability to find innovative solutions that will enable SoundExchange to drive positive change in the industry and advocate on behalf of music creators,” said SoundExchange president and CEO Michael Huppe.
PR Boutiques International has elected Blue Water Communications founder and president Lynette Werning president. Werning has served as vice president of PRBI for the past two years. Tarunjeet Rattan, a partner at Nucleus PR in Bangalore, India, is joining the organization’s board as vice president. Werning and Rattan are joined on PRB!’s 2020-2021 executive committee by Bame PR principal Cheryl Bame, who will serve as secretary; WordWrite Communications president Paul Furiga, who has been elected treasurer; and Red PR founder Julia Labaton, who comes on as member-at-large.
Voyager Digital Ltd., a publicly traded, licensed crypto-asset broker, has hired Michael Legg as head of communications. Legg comes to Voyager from The Benchmark Company, where he was an equity research analyst, working with companies in the cleantech, emerging growth and cannabis sectors. In his new post, he will lead communication efforts for Voyager in partnership with KCSA Strategic Communications, which handles the company’s investor relations and public relations.
