IHOP names Kieran Donahue chief marketing officer. Most recently, Donahue was at Marriott as vice president, brand, marketing and digital, Americas. She previously held several positions at Hilton, including vice president, Americas marketing for Hilton Enterprises and vice president of global brand marketing for DoubleTree by Hilton. At IHOP, Donahue is responsible for driving the brand’s marketing and culinary strategies, including oversight of advertising, digital innovation, communications, menu development and overall brand experience. She reports directly to IHOP President Jay Johns.

Carve Communications appoints Mariela Azcuy as VP of content. Azcuy was previously vice president of B2B marketing at Univision. She has also served as senior associate director of PR at Meredith Corp. In her new role, Azcuy is responsible for broadening Carve’s thought leadership services. She will also work with the agency’s PR team to maximize storytelling opportunities on behalf of brands and executives through outlets including press, events, social media and blogs. “We have seen an influx of interest from brands and executives on finding new methods and avenues to storytelling. Mariela is going to help us expand on this in a thoughtful, creative way aligning with each client’s business objectives,” said David Barkoe, Carve’s founder and CEO. Azcuy’s appointment comes on the heels of Carve announcing the promotion of Scott Goldberg as the agency’s managing director and executive vice president of client services.
