Deseret Management Corp., which runs the Deseret News as well as the other commercial businesses owned by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, hires Aaron Sherinian as senior vice president, global reach. Sherinian joins Deseret from Philip Morris International, where he served as vice president, global communications transformation. He was previously director, global communications at the Aga Khan Development Network and chief communications and marketing officer for the United Nations Foundation. “Aaron’s passion for leveraging modern communications for positive global change will help DMC advance its mission in unique ways,” said DMC chief executive officer Keith B. McMullin.

Bevel, a strategic advisory and communications consultancy, is adding former Hiltzik Strategies COO/CFO Roni Gross to its executive team as chief operating officer. Gross has also served as head of US operations at Freud Communications, helping the firm establish its presence in the US by building out the New York office, and subsequently opening an office in Los Angeles. “Roni’s experience is exactly what we need for the next stage of Bevel’s growth,” said Jessica Schaefer, Executive Chairwoman and Founder of Bevel.

GrowGeneration, a chain of specialty hydroponic and organic garden centers, appoints Becky Gebhardt as senior vice president, marketing and e-commerce. Gebhardt has served as EVP, chief marketing officer at Lands End and vice president, creative director at Crocs. Most recently, she was global chief marketing officer at PopSockets, a Colorado company Colorado specializing in grips, mounts, and wallets for digital devices. In her new position, Gebhardt will be responsible for leading customer acquisition, retention, and engagement initiatives across all channels. “Becky's 20-plus year career in consumer goods and best-in-class customer experience is the unique mix of brand and digital strategic expertise that we've been looking for to drive our omni-channel marketing and e-commerce platforms," said GrowGeneration CEO Darren Lampert.
