Subject Matter has named Susan Spencer, a former editor-in-chief of Hearst Magazines’ Woman’s Day, as senior VP of its content & strategy group.
Spencer had been running a consulting firm that helps companies connect to women. Susan Spencer Consulting counted clients such as Kaplow Communications, Novartis, Media One and Classic Radio Club.
Earlier, Spencer was executive director of Engage: Promoting Women’s Economic Security, which dealt with issues such as financial literacy, affordable childcare, paid family leave, diversity & inclusion, and pay equity
She also did a stint at Time Inc. as executive editor of All You Magazine, a value-based women’s title.
