Motion hires Terry Mertens as VP, group creative director. Mertens joins the firm from advertising agency Plan B, where he directed the efforts of the creative department for over 12 years. He has also served as creative director at SynchronUs and Tenthirty Advertising. At Motion, Mertens will be leading the writing division of the agency’s creative department and assisting with clients across categories including healthcare, manufacturing and retail. “Motion is made up of curious thinkers, problem solvers and strategic storytellers—Terry has already showcased these qualities among so many more and will be a great fit to our team,” said Motion founder and CEO Kimberly Eberl.

WP Engine, which develops products and services for WordPress users, appoints Sachin Puri as senior vice president and CMO. Puri was most recently VP of marketing at McAfee. He has also served as global head of performance marketing at eBay. In his new position, Puri will be responsible for WP Engine’s global marketing strategy, execution, and performance, including brand, content and digital marketing. “Sachin brings critical expertise and proven success in leading eCommerce, performance marketing, customer lifecycle management, and brand experience for Fortune 500 companies,” said WP Engine chairwoman and CEO Heather Brunner.

Méndez has served as EVP of marketing at BBC America, and chief marketing officer at MundoFox.
