TikTok hires former NBA chief marketing officer Kate Jhaveri as global head of marketing. The position had been vacant since former Hulu vp, brand and culture marketing Nick Tran left the position in January. Jhaveri has also served as CMO at Twitch (Amazon’s videogame live-streaming platform), head of consumer marketing at Twitter and director of consumer and online marketing at Microsoft. In her new post, she will oversee TikTok’s consumer and brand marketing, and head up the platform’s marketing to content creators.
Big Lots, a home discount retailer, names John Alpaugh CMO Alpaugh was most recently CEO at CyberMark, a digital marketing solutions provider, which he sold in June. Before that, he was CMO at PetSmart. In his new position, Alpaugh is responsible for managing the company's brand and marketing strategies and executions. "John has a proven track record of marketing excellence, is a strong collaborator, and possesses a great mix of analytical and practical instincts," said Big Lots president and CEO Bruce Thorn.

Grange joins Snell & Wilmer from legal firm Davis Graham & Stubs, where she was also chief marketing officer.
