Camarco, the London-based financial and corporate communications shop owned by APCO, names Marc Cohen to lead its technology sector team as senior director. Cohen comes to Camarco from The PR Office, where he served as managing director. He was previously a partner at Kreab Gavin Anderson and an SVP at FTI Consulting. Cohen will be supported by associate director Gabriel Hedengren, who worked with Cohen at The PR Office and has also been a senior AE with FINN Partners. Cohen and Hedengren will focus on supporting deeptech and life sciences companies, as well as VCs, from early stage and scale up through to IPO and beyond. APCO has also added artificial intelligence and tech specialist Gordon Mackay as a senior director in London. “They bring great expertise in the technology and life sciences sector, an area of strategic importance for our business,” said Camarco CEO and chairman of APCO in the UK Geoffrey Pelham-Lane said.

Imre names Aleisia Gibson Wright as chief growth officer and Maryann Kuzel as EVP of data and analytics. Wright was most recently managing director, healthcare at Lippe Taylor/twelvenote and she previously served as EVP at Havas Health & You. In her new post, she will oversee imre’s growth team efforts, augmenting the new business pipeline, networking, amplifying the organization, and leading efforts to win new books of business while growing services within existing client partner relationships. Kuzel comes to imre from BGB Group, where she was EVP data, analytics and customer experience. She was previously EVP, global head data and analytics with Havas Health & You. At imre, Kuzel will envision and build capabilities to empower imre teams and expand the depth and breadth of the insights brands need to reach their market. The agency has also appointed former Wunderman Thompson CEO Becky Chidester as chair of its executive board’s newly formed strategic committee.

Penta Group elects Stacy Kerr and Jill Craig as senior partners. Kerr, who has been a partner at Penta since 2022, was previously a partner at Hamilton Place Strategies. She was also the founder of Kerr Strategies, chief communications officer of Georgetown University, and a senior aide to former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Craig has led Penta’s Brussels office for almost a decade. She was previously a managing director at Hume Brophy and has served as deputy GM at Edelman in addition to holding a series of senior in-house government relations roles. Penta also announced the election of Scott Elder and Kris Havens as partners. “Stacy, Jill, Scott, and Kris excel in pairing client needs with the intelligence capabilities and strategic counsel that our firm distinctively provides,” said Penta president Matt McDonald.

Deerfield Agency, which works with life sciences companies, hires Eric Steckelman as EVP, business development. Steckelman joins Deerfield from Medisafe, where he was VP of business development. He previously served as VP of business development and communications at Syneos Health as well as US and global medical marketing advisor in the cardiovascular medicine division for Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. In his new post, Steckelman will spearhead business development and marketing initiatives, driving strategic growth opportunities and fostering partnerships for Deerfield and its clients. "With a proven track record in new business growth and development, along with expertise in assessing market trends and opportunities, we are confident that Eric will play a key role in deepening and expanding client relationships and broadening visibility for the agency," said Deerfield managing partner Frank Burrell.
