Sean Findlen, a senior VP for Weber Shandwick in New England, is moving to Bates College, his alma mater, as chief communications officer.
Findlen takes up the post on Sept. 1 after heading Weber's 20-staffer corporate practice out of Boston.
Bates said it conducted a national search to replace Meg Kimmel, who retired in June after four years as associate VP for communications.
Findlen, a 1999 grad of the Maine college, will direct development and implementation of a strategic communications plan for Bates, in addition to managing media relations and other outreach.
