US and UK tech specialist Hotwire has launched a new division focused on the public sector.

Hotwire Social Impact is the agency’s new practice serving clients in the non-profit and government arenas. The unit will focus on four core areas — digital and social media strategy, media relations, influencer engagement, and creative campaigns — and will provide integrated marketing and communication services to organizations whose goals include social responsibility, innovation, community building and technology.

“It is extremely rewarding to have a measurable impact on an organization and advance their goals — both business goals and those of the overall company mission,” Heather Kernahan, Hotwire president, North America, told O’Dwyer’s. “This is where Hotwire is at its best. We have a longstanding history with non-profit and government clients and are doubling down on our commitment with the launch of our Hotwire Social Impact practice.”

The new practice will be led by digital marketing specialist Aidan Lukomnik, who now wears the title of head of Hotwire Social Impact.

Hotwire, a subsidiary of Australia-based marketing and communications network Enero Group Limited, was the largest gainer out of any PR firm ranked by O’Dwyer’s in 2017, increasing more than 322 percent year-over-year to account for $13.2 million in net fees in 2016.
