Michelle Toohey, deputy press secretary for former Alaska Governor Sean Parnell, has joined the communications staff of the state’s Senator Lisa Murkowski, who chairs the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
She will serve as senior advisor and “play a key role in promoting the committee’s work to advance energy and resources for Alaska and the nation,” according to a statement from the Republican Senator.
Toohey, a native of Anchorage, has been running her own PA shop for the past three years.
Earlier, she served as chief of staff for ex-Alaska lieutenant governor Mead Treadwell and director of PR/advocacy at the American Lung Assn. of Alaska.
