Brunswick Group has named Nik Deogun CEO of the Americas and senior partner effective Oct. 1.
The nine-year CNBC veteran served as editor-in-chief/senior VP for business news in charge of content for daily programming, specials and documentaries. He also helped build the cable TV network's events and conferences business.
Prior to CNBC, Deogun worked as deputy managing editor of The Wall Street Journal, overseeing financial/international coverage and the paper's foreign bureaus and correspondents.
Earlier, he reported for the paper and become editor of its media & marketing group, which including entertainment, publishing, advertising, consumer products, fashion and retail news beats.
Deogun will be based in New York.

Teneo is handling the initial public offering of CVC Capital Partners, one of Europe’s largest private equity firms with nearly $200B in assets under management.
Brunswick Group represents Endeavor Group Holdings as it agrees to go private via its acquisition by Silver Lake technology investment firm, which is handled by Edelman Smithfield.
Tod Donhauser, a nine-year veteran of Edelman, has joined H/Advisors Abernathy as managing director and head of its San Francisco office.
