CL-Media Relations handled the announcement of the retirement of John Childs, chairman and founder of Boston private equity firm J.W. Childs Assocs., who has been charged with soliciting prostitution.
That allegation followed the Feb. 22 Florida massage parlor sting that was tied to a human trafficking investigation that resulted in similar charges against New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
77-year-old Childs, a part-time resident of Indian River Shores, FL, dismissed the accusation as “totally false.”
In the Feb. 25 press release, JW Childs said Childs “is not currently active in the management of the firm,” and has stepped down as chairman and the director of KeyImpact, a portfolio company.
“John has built an enduring and strong business and we appreciate his many contributions to JWC, said Adam Suttin. “I look forward with confidence to the next chapter for our firm and wish John well.”
