The Museum of Public Relations is presenting a discussion of the current state of diversity, equity and inclusion on Oct. 27. “Silence Is Not an Option: Allyship, Advocacy and Anti-Racism” will address how organizations can create a sense of belonging in the workplace for all employees and will emphasize a call to action for individual accountability and commitment to DEI across all levels of an organization. Topics that will be part of the discussion include: strategies for engaging in difficult conversations, factors to consider when well-intentioned DEI programs miss the mark, and types of inclusive behaviors and actions employees should take to cultivate an environment of psychological safety and belonging. Moderated by City College of New York professor emerita Lynn Appelbaum, the event will also feature keynote speakers Aurora Archer and Kelly Croce Song, co-founders of The Opt-In, a podcast centered around diversity-related issues.
