BCW Group promotes Amy Cloessner from chief operating officer to president of Direct Impact, its grassroots firm. Cloessner will be responsible for building DI’s offerings, growing its client base and overseeing talent management. She will work with Jeff Joseph, BCW’s incoming president, Washington, D.C., as well as BCW Group Company Prime Policy Group, to develop solutions and programs for clients. “Amy is the perfect choice to lead DI, as she is an incredible home-grown success story having started her career with us at Burson-Marsteller in 2002 and advancing steadily through the ranks,” said BCW president, North America, Mary Corcoran.
Magrino hires Ariane Romano as executive vice president/integrated brand services, a new position at the firm. Romano was a vice president at the agency between 2006 and 2009. She was most recently vice president, new business development at 160over90. In her new position, she will be responsible for implementing an integrated marketing approach to help identify areas of future development, unlock deeper engagement with clients, and introduce new types of services and industries to the agency. “Ariane Romano brings a great depth of experience in integrated marketing, and we are thrilled to welcome her back to the agency,” said agency chairman and CEO Susan Magrino. Magrino has also promoted Jee Park and Chris Walters from senior VP to executive VP, and Alexis Chernoff and Nicole Frydman to vice president.
Zilker Media, an Austin-based PR and digital marketing agency, promotes Shelby Janner to chief publicity officer and Nichole Williamson to chief brand officer. Both have been with the firm since its founding in 2017. Janner was most recently publicity director. Before joining Zilker, she was publicity manager at Advantage Media Group | Forbes Books. Williamson’s most recent post at Zilker was as brand strategy director. She was previously an account executive at Raconteur Media Company. Janner and Williamson will now co-lead operations for the agency, including the growth of their respective departments. “They are masters of their craft and will continue to successfully lead and develop our teams towards our vision as a company,” said Zilker Media partner and CEO Paige Valesquez Budde.
Modern Campus, a platform that offers higher education providers such services as non-traditional student management, web content management, catalog and curriculum management, names Sharon Schwarzmiller senior vice president of marketing. Schwarzmiller joined Modern Campus in January as vice president for solutions marketing after seven years in executive marketing roles at educational content, technology, and services company Cengage. “Sharon is an expert in integrated marketing, with a long-standing record of excellence,” said Modern Campus CEO Brian Kibby.
