PRSA-NY is holding its Summer Member Mixer on Tuesday, August 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event, which is sponsored by Edelman, will take place at the rooftop of the agency’s New York office at 250 Hudson St. It will feature a conversation with the COO of Edelman's newly launched Gen Z Lab, Amanda Edelman, who will talk about the findings of Edelman's research and explore what it takes to unlock the power of Gen Z. PRSA-NY members who attend will learn about the chapter's annual Big Apple Awards in September and ways to get involved. In addition, they will learn about opportunities to partner with PRSA-NY, contribute content to the chapter's social media channels, and be featured in the Member Spotlight Series.

The Museum of Public Relations is sponsoring a virtual Sept. 15 event that will look at how the obstacles facing Latino PR professionals can be surmounted. Emceed by Edelman New York president Oscar Suris, “How Communicators Can Shape Authentic Narratives of Latino Communities” will offer the viewpoints of a wide range of PR pros from agency, in-house and academic environments. The keynote speaker at the event will be Carl Quintanilla, anchor of CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street and “TechCheck.” Sponsors for the event include Amazon, FINN Partners, Muck Rack, the Diversity Action Alliance and the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. The two-hour event will start at 6 p.m.

The Institute for Public Relations’ “IPR Master Class: Immersive Media & Storytelling” kicks off with a call on August 24. The series, which runs through December, features six sessions that are intended to bring mid- to senior-level communicators up to speed on the emerging technologies and interactive experiences that are transforming digital storytelling.
