FTI Consulting appoints Wendy Dobson as a senior managing director in the financial services practice of its strategic communications segment. Dobson was most recently head of group corporate citizenship at Standard Bank, Africa’s largest bank with a presence in Europe, Asia and the US. She also served as the co-chair of the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative Banking Board until May 2023. In her new post, Dobson, based in London, will lead the development of the segment’s financial services-focused sustainability offering. “Wendy is a highly respected expert with deep experience in navigating a dynamic, complex set of pressures, risks and opportunities related to ESG, sustainability and corporate citizenship through the lens of a universal global banking group,” said Neil Doyle, senior managing director and EMEA head of financial services in FTI’s strategic sommunications segment.
TIME promotes Kristin Matzen to chief communications officer. Matzen has been with the company since 2018, most recently serving as VP, communications. She was previously director, brand communications at Meredith, and she has worked in the publicity departments of Penguin Random House, and Simon and Schuster. In her new post, Matzen will lead all strategic communications for TIME, including corporate communications, media relations, editorial and event publicity, and crisis communications. “Kristin has deep knowledge of our brand, a passion for collaborating with and elevating individuals across TIME to bring visibility to their efforts and achievements, and an unwavering commitment to upholding TIME’s reputation to ensure that we continue to maintain the trust of consumers and partners around the world,” TIME CEO Jessica Sibley said in a note to staff.
Ribbon Communications, which delivers communications software, IP and optical networking solutions to service providers, enterprises and critical infrastructure sectors, names Joni Roberts chief marketing officer, SVP. Roberts comes to the company from RAD Data, where she served as VP of sales and business development for North America. She has also held senior positions at Fujitsu, Coriant, Dell and Nortel. Reporting to CEO Bruce McClelland. Roberts will run the company's global marketing strategy, marketing organization and investor relations. “Her technical acumen, deep understanding of our business, and customer focus, combined with her wide-ranging experience, will be a tremendous asset to the company," said McClelland.
