Public Strategies Washington has added Abbie Sorrendino, a former aide to now Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
She joined PSW from the office of New York Congressman Joe Morelle, where she was his chief of staff.
During her 15-year career on Capitol Hill, Sorrendino has dealt with a diverse legislative portfolio including financial services, transportation, infrastructure, campaign finance reform, government oversight, and election administration.
As a professional staffer on the Senate Rules Committee, she was a liasion to staffers at each Senate office.
Patrick O’Neill, managing partner at PSW, said Sorrendino’s "policy expertise, understanding of congressional process in both the House and Senate, and longstanding relationships with Democratic leaders on both sides of the Capitol will add a new dimension to what we offer our clients.”
Sorrendino also did a stint in the White House’s Office of Legislative Affairs, and served as a staffer in Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign.
