Kekst and Company and Sard Verbinnen & Co are supporting AXIS Capital and Partner Re in their blockbuster $11B reinsurance merger.
The two Bermuda-based companies claim combined cash and invested assets of more than $33B, among the top five in the reinsurance sector, which insures the risk on catastrophe insurance policies sold by other insurers.
AXIS CEO Albert Benchimol will take the reins of the combined company while ParterRe chair Jean-Paul Montupet takes a non-executive chairman role under the deal, announced Jan. 25. The combined board will include seven directors from each company.
