SPMJ specializes in corporate communications and media relations with a focus on international tech brands in Brazil and Latin America. Clients include IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), Silver Spring Networks, Irdeto, AbbVie Laboratories, Agilent Technologies, Mayo Clinic, Microlab, Avianca Airlines, Tyco, PMI and others.
The São Paulo-based agency, which was founded in 1985, in February opened an office in New Orleans, its first in the U.S.
The partnership creates a digital communications services network allowing both agencies to deliver PR programs for tech clients across the Americas.
“When our clients want to expand their PR efforts into Latin America, they want to be assured that the team on the ground is just as capable as their Karbo Com team here in the States,” Karbo Communications founder and CEO Julie Karbo told O’Dwyer’s. “In SPMJ, we found a kindred spirit when it comes to strategic communications and a commitment to results. Similarly, their clients are confident that Karbo Com can help them succeed in the U.S. That’s what you get with best-of-breed agencies in each market.”
