IBM has recruited Saswato Das for the VP-corporate communications post effective mid-August.
He will join from ABB Group, the Zurich-based Swiss-Swedish industrial equipment, automation technology giant, where he was promoted to the external communications and content post in Jan. 2017. He moved to ABB in June 2016, as head of business media relations.
Earlier, Das was VP-corporate communications at CA Technologies, and director-global communications/VP-global corporate affairs at SAP.
At IBM, Das will focus on developing the story of Big Blue's corporate transformation, policy and strategic communications.
He will report to Ray Day, chief communications officer.
Weber Shandwick, SKDKnickerbocker, Civic Entertainment Group and Spectrum Science handle IBM's PR.
Laura Anderson, who rose to VP/GM of global communications and events in a nearly 20 year stint at Intel, will take on the Americas technology chair at Burson following the completion of the BCW and H+K merger on July 1.
