Conkwest, the cancer-focused immunotherapy company backed by biotech billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong, is working with LHA for financial communications support as it pursues an initial public offering.
Based in Cardiff-by-the-sea, Calif., Conkwest plans to raise up to $173M with the Nasdaq listing, which it filed confidentially in mid-May and announced publicly on June 19.
Soon-Shiong, who built Abraxis BioScience and American Pharmaceutical Partners before selling the companies for nearly $9B in total, invested $48M in the clinical-stage company in December as it works to use natural "killer cells" in the body to treat cancer and other disease.
