5W Public Relations helped Jerusalem Venture Partners launch its JVP International Cyber Center in Soho at a Feb. 1 event. As part of the event, JVP founder and chairman Erel Margalit talked with Gwyneth Paltrow, actress and founder of lifestyle brand goop. The two discussed issues surrounding innovation, entrepreneurship and creating international market leaders. Also attending the event were representatives from the four universities partnering with JVP on the new center; international business delegations from Europe, the US and Asia; and key players from New York State Economic Development Council’s New York Start Up program. Founded in 1993, JVP has created and invested in over 140 companies in Israel, the US and Europe.

Vested has acquired New York-based Scribe, which specializes in content development, optimization, strategy and syndication for clients across banking, asset management, hedge fund, and other financial services verticals. Its clients include Ernst & Young, Goldman Sachs, Vestwell and Threadvest. Vested will own a majority stake in Scribe, which will maintain its brand. The acquisition follows Vested’s 2018 purchase of UK-based Templars PR and last year’s purchase of minority stakes in Caliber Corporate Advisers and business journalism website, Talking Biz News.

Blattel Communications has opened a marketing services division. The new division will work with small- and mid-size firms, in such areas as law, accounting, real estate, architecture and construction, as well as professional associations and nonprofits. The division will be anchored by vice president, marketing services Lydia Bednerik Neal and marketing services director Marcia Delgadillo, both recent additions to the agency. Bednerik Neal rejoins Blattel, where she worked in the early 2000s, from legal firm Wendel Rosen LLP, where she was marketing director. Delgadillo was most recently director of member relations and development for the California Minority Counsel Program.
