Cannes Lions today pushed back its 2020 festival of creativity from June to October 26-30 due to the "challenging circumstances" presented by the coronavirus pandemic.

The decision was made in conjunction with French governmental authorities and public health officials.

Philip Thomas, chairman of Cannes Lions, said, "The global situation is dynamic and changing rapidly, we felt it was critical to provide visibility on June as soon as possible. We will continue to liaise closely with our customers as we develop our plans."

All passes, sponsorship arrangements and bookings will roll over and remain valid. The organizers plan to extend the deadline and elibibility date fcor submissions.
