The National Marine Manufacturers Association has named Tillie Fowler, who spent six years as top lobbyist for Boeing’s commercial aviation division, senior VP-government relations.
She will join the “voice” of the $42B recreational boating business on Aug. 30.
Fowler has Capitol Hill experience, earned as chief of staff for Florida Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite (R-FL) and then-Congressman Johnny Isakson (R-GA).
She also served George Bush II’s White House as director of intergovernmental affairs at the Federal Motor Carrier Administration unit in the Dept. of Transportation.
Fowler, who began her career at Cohn & Wolfe, will join NMMA from the American Academy of Physician Assistants, where she was senior VP of advocacy and government relations for the organization with more than 140,000 members.
NMMA president Fred Hugelmeyer said Fowler’s extensive policy and legislative experience will advance the association’s goal “to protect and grow boating and ensure prosperity of the recreational boating industry.”
