A Libyan politician who has a good shot at becoming the battered country's first elected president has hired BGR Group to a $50K a month contract to build support in the US for the Dec. 24 general election.
Fathi Bashagha, Libya's former interior minister who survived an assassination attempt in Tripoli, gave BGR a six-month contract that went into effect Aug. 20.
The BGR team is led by Maya Seiden (former aide to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton), who is supported by Lester Munson (principal in the international and trade practice) and Jeff Birnbaum (president of the PR group).
It will pitch the upcoming vote as a way "to ensure Libya is on the path for a prosperous and stable future," according to the letter of agreement.
