westernDenver's $1.1B National Western Center, a redevelopment aimed to create "a world-class hub for the Western way of life," is on the hunt for outside PR and marketing counsel.

The center, a project of History Colorado, Colorado State University, the Denver Museum of Science, Western Stock Show Association and the Denver Mayor's office, seeks strategic communications, marketing, branding and other outreach support for the endeavor.

The 110-year-old site of the National Western Complex houses the annual 16-day Stock Show and Rodeo, drawing around 750,000 people, but is little used for the rest of the year. The redevelopment plans include a new arena, hotels, shopping, agricultural innovation center, and other tourism draws.

Proposals are due August 29. The RFP is available at denver.gov.
