Benenson runs Benenson Strategy Group, a research and consulting firm that has worked with clients such as AARP, the NFL and Campbell’s Soup Company, notable executives like Procter & Gamble’s A.G. Lafley, General Electric’s Jack Welch and AOL’s Bob Pittman, and more than a dozen prime ministers and presidents globally. Benenson handled polling for Obama’s 2008 and 2012 campaigns, as well as Clinton’s 2016 run. The firm, which Benenson co-founded in 2000, is based in New York and has outposts in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Denver.

WPP’s Kantar acquired BSG in 2013. The firm joined the Burson-Marsteller network last year.

Benenson will work with the global PR giant’s professionals worldwide in a bid to bring the agency’s clients senior-level strategic communications counseling. He will continue to lead BSG in light of the new role.

Burson-Marsteller in December appointed global public affairs practice chair Kevin Bell to the role of worldwide president.
