Catholic fraternal organization the Knights of Columbus has retained government affairs group Van Scoyoc Associates for representation in Washington on issues related to religion, taxation and government.

The world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization currently boasts more than 1.9 million members in about 15,000 councils around the world. The New Haven, CT-based organization was founded in 1882.

According to lobbying registration documents filed in February, VSA will represent the Knights of Columbus on non-profit related issues, international religious liberty issues and judicial nomination issues.

The account will be led by President and CEO H. Stewart Van Scoyoc.
