The first assignment for the political veteran will be leading OurWater Los Angeles, a coalition of environmental justice groups and clean water advocates concerned with sustainable and natural water infrastructure solutions.

“Advocating and embracing diversity, engaging community with respect to culture is the best and most effective method of communication, especially for those in the Latino and Asian Pacific Islander communities whom I look forward to serving in this new capacity,” Martinez said.

In 2010, Yvette provided guidance to Senator Barbara Boxer’s re-election campaign, and also served as Political Director on the Senator’s campaign in 2004, where she worked with labor unions, election officials, and opinion leaders throughout the state to secure key campaign endorsements.

Over the course of her career, Yvette has worked on campaigns at all levels of the ballot, from local school board races to national presidential campaigns.

“Yvette and I have a long-standing professional history dating back more than 22 years ago when we worked on a public education and advocacy campaign to ban dangerous and cheap handguns for The California Wellness Foundation,” said Ronald W. Wong, Imprenta’s president and CEO.  “We have a shared commitment and history of empowering communities of color.”

California-based Imprenta specializes in reaching diverse audiences.  Its name is a Spanish and Tagalog (Filipino) word, which means to “imprint.”
