Squatty Potty, which makes a line of toilet stools, sprays and other bathroom accessories, has pulled ads featuring comedian Kathy Griffin.

Last night, an image of Griffin holding a mock "decapitated" head of President Trump made its way around social media and has caused outrage on both sides of the political spectrum.

Kathy Griffin apologizes

Squatty Potty CEO Bobby Edwards issued this statement today:

“We were shocked and disappointed to learn about the image Ms. Griffin shared today, it was deeply inappropriate and runs contrary to the core values our company stands for. In response, Squatty Potty has suspended its ad campaign featuring Ms. Griffin. We have acted swiftly and decisively to demonstrate our commitment to a culture of decency, civility, and tolerance.”

The company is well-known for its tongue-in-cheek, social media-driven campaigns.

Griffin has issued a video apology.
