Peter Boyer, staff writer for the New Yorker for 18 years, is now national correspondent for The Weekly Standard.

Boyer, who has covered the military, politics, religion and sports, “has been one of the finest journalists in America for decades,” said Stephen Hayes, editor-in-chief of TWS, in a statement. “He’s the kind of reporter that ambitious young journalists read to learn how to write narrative non-fiction.”

Most recently, Boyer was editor-at-large at Fox News and senior correspondent at Newsweek/Daily Beast. He also was a correspondent for Frontline, a PBS production.
