The Glover Park Group has brought on Randy DeValk as managing director. DeValk comes to GPG following almost 30 years, of public service, having held several positions within the Obama Administration, including counselor to the White House Office of Legislative Affairs, and counselor to Secretaries Geithner and Lew at the Treasury Department. At GPG, DeValk will focus on such issues as taxes, trade, appropriations, financial services, cryptocurrency and national security. “If someone has played a key role in more public policy issues over the last few decades, I haven’t met him or her,” said Joel Johnson, managing director and head of GPG’s Government Relations division.

Development Counsellors International has promoted Dariel Y. Curren to executive vice president. Curren joined DCI in 1995 and has served as director of the company’s economic development division since 2010, creating programs that integrate high-profile media exposure for clients with websites and other digital strategies. She has also developed community branding and marketing strategies and serves as the agency’s media training specialist.

PRR, Inc., has hired transportation communications veteran Cathy Gillen as a senior project director. Founder of The Gillen Group, a firm focused on transportation safety communications, Gillen has also held public affairs positions with the Governors Highway Safety Association, Advocates for Highway and Auto Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. She will work with PRR’s Baltimore, MD team, led by Traceé Strum-Gilliam, PRR’s East Coast director of transportation.
