San Joaquin

The San Joaquin County Public Health Services is looking for a firm to handle its “Post-COVID-19: Emerging Diseases Program Communications Plan.”

The California county of 800K people experienced 207K positive COVID-19 cases and 2400 deaths during the pandemic.

It wants to build on the “lessons learned” during the three-year COVID-19 health emergency as it transitions to the post-COVID-19 era.

SJCPHS aims to shatter the perception that it is equated with COVID-19, lock-down and government control.

“This image does not reflect the trustworthy, committed, service-oriented professionals offering equitable, data-driven, life-sustaining, life-extending and life-protecting services,” according to the RFP.

SJCPHS wants a communications partner to highlight its commitment to health equity as it works to increase COVID-19 vaccination, testing and treatment rates among vulnerable populations.

The selected firm will showcase how SJCPHS developed partnerships with community- and faith-based organizations, businesses, schools and other county agencies; rectify any mistrust that developed within the community from the last three years; and reintroduce SJCPHS as the dedicated and trusted provider of accurate, data-driven health information. SJCPHS requires a firm with at least five years of experience, working with public health and/or the business community and leaders.

Social marketing skills and the ability to implement campaigns across multiple platforms (e.g., web-based, social media, print, radio, television, etc.) are musts.

Proposals are due Oct. 17. They go to:
