Opa-locka

The city of Opa-locka, Florida is looking for a public relations and marketing consultant.

The Miami-Dade County city, which was founded in 1926 by aviator Glenn Curtiss and is known for its "One Thousand and One Nights" theme—boasting the largest collection of Moorish Revival architecture in the Western Hemisphere— is looking for an agency that can provide PR and marketing services on an as-needed and ongoing basis that will boost the community’s awareness of the city’s plans, initiatives, programs and ongoing projects.

Scope of the work includes: Creating a unique, memorable identity for the city; developing a comprehensive public relations plan; reviewing and updating the city’s website and social media strategies; creating slogans, logos, taglines, etc. as appropriate; providing crisis communications support; improving the public and private sector’s perception of the city; advising on media/public relations strategies to address possible changes to the Opa-locka’s physical and social fabric; developing and maintaining a media distribution list and media contacts; ensuring effective communication between the city and community stakeholders; creating and designing flyers for city events and functions; and assisting the city with planning major events.

The contract is anticipated to run for one fiscal year with the option to renew for two additional one-year terms.

All budding agencies should include one original and six copies of their proposals, as well as an electronic copy on a USB Flash Drive in PDF format. All envelopes/packages should be labeled: “RFP NO. 24- 0410100–Public Relations and Marketing Consultant.”
