JPA Health Communications has appointed Dan Sweet to the role of vice president of that agency's Washington, D.C. office.
Sweet joins JPA from Omnicom unit FleishmanHillard, where he was senior VP and specialized in healthcare and policy. Prior to that he was assistant director of scientific communications at the American Society for Clinical Oncology, where he managed media, and was managing director at CLS Strategies, as well as a VP at Weber Shandwick unit Powell Tate.
Sweet will now lead media relations programs and crisis communications efforts at JPA, serving health industry clients that specialize in medical devices, diagnostics and health IT.
Michael O’Brien, executive VP and head of JPA’s Washington, D.C. office, said Sweet’s “expertise in navigating complex healthcare and public policy issues strengthens our ability to help address the needs of our growing client base.”
JPA, which holds additional offices in London and Boston, accounted for more than $4.6 million in healthcare net fees in 2014, according to O'Dwyer's rankings of PR firms.
