Independent Midwest PR powerhouse PadillaCRT announced that it has promoted Matt Kucharski to the role of president.

Kucharski succeeds Mark Raper, who had held the president role since 2013. Raper now carries the new title of chief counsel officer.

Kucharski joined the Minneapolis-based agency in 1989, first serving as a senior account executive before later being named vice president in the agency’s technology practice and later, senior vice president. For the past five years, he’s held the executive vice president title. Kucharski also served as to Worldcom Group Chair from 2010-2012, and for 16 years has been an adjunct instructor of marketing and communications at the University of Minnesota.

As president, Kucharski will lead PadillaCRT’s B2B and B2C practices, as well as its health practice.

PadillaCRT, which maintains additional offices in New York, Los Angeles and Alexandria and Richmond, VA, in 2015 accounted for nearly $35 million in net fees.
