tyler gronbachTyler Gronbach has left a top communications post at for-profit education giant Education Management Corp. for the VP-communications slot at pharmaceutical services provider DPx Holdings, formed in March by private equity firm JLL Partners and European pharma Royal DSM.

Gronbach takes the reins as lead spokesman overseeing global communications for the Durham, N.C.-based company, parent to Patheon (contract development and manufacturing organization), DPx Fine Chemicals (pharma ingredients) and Banner Life Sciences (delivery platform and drug maker).

JLL and Royal DSM closed a $2.65B deal to create the privately held company in March.

Gronbach reports to chief HR officer and SVP-comms. Rebecca Holland New. He spent the past year at EMC as senior VP-corporate comms. for the No. 2 for-profit education company. Chris Hardman remains VP of strategic communications at EMC.

Gronbach was previously SVP of marketing and comms. for Dex One Corp. in Cary, N.C., and VP of corporate comms. for Qwest Communications in Denver.
